Okay, so I say "we" but as everyone knows, Atticus doesn't talk. As I often say during radio interviews when the hosts asks me if Atticus is with me, "Of course he is, but he won't talk. Just think of us as the Penn & Teller of memoirs.
Recently "we" were approached about doing an interview for Chick Lit Is Not Dead by Liz and Lisa. How could "we" resist? I happily answered the questions, for both of us, and the interview went live today. "We" hope you read it and enjoy it since it's not the same old - same old kind of interview. The ladies ask some fun questions and because of it, this is part of one of the answers you will see:
"...on one of our most recent hikes, a five mile loop that wouldn’t have taken more than three hours in the past, we started out later in the afternoon, took our time, sunbathed on the summit ledges, then on another set of ledges watched the sunset and the rise of the full moon over neighboring mountains. We stayed there for quite some time, just the three of us, ate a candlelight dinner, and danced to the music piped from my iPhone under the full moon, and returned to the car nine hours later."
Yes, I talk of love....but I also touch on veganism, adopting unwanted animals, my favorite authors, and I even give advice to aspiring authors. To read the entire interview click here, and we'd love it if you left them a comment - it could help you win a copy of Following Atticus.

It's so great to have BOTH of you as our guest today. WE loved your book! xo, Liz & Lisa
Tom!!! It was our pleasure to have you and Atticus on the site today, please come back again soon!
xoxo, L&La
Ladies, the pleasure was all ours. Next time Atticus and I will sit it out and we'll let Will field the questions. Thanks again!
Tom- Fun interview on chicklitisnotdead.com. Have you set a probable publishing date for second book yet? Like many of the lovely comments, FOLLOWING ATTICUS is just a beautiful, profound book. I've never read a book that continued to dance around my brain and fill my heart and soul like it did (does). You are a very gifted writer. Thanks to all of you!
Oh, whoa, you are the ultimate romantics!!! I have to catch my breath before I go on to the interview.....quite simply stunning!
Thank you, Patricia...for so many good words. We have yet to even show what I'm working on to my agent and I have no idea if my publisher will even be interested yet. I'm hoping they are, since I love my editor at William Morrow. But if they aren't interested, someone will be.
Tom, just loved this interview with the Gals. This interview gave me insight as to the pleasures you give to so many at your book signing & speaking events. Since I was not able to attend any this past year, this was like a consolation gift to me from you & Atticus. Agree, that you should let Will help the Gals field those "insider questions" next time~lol! As to worries about publishing your next book(s); no doubts that you will have any rejections. Any and all of your future books will be well supported by all of Atti's Army and the many new comers to FA. It was a pleasure to give a thumbs up comment to Liz & Lisa on a marvelous interview with you & Atticus.
Wonderful interview and as always another lovely blog entry.
Could you update us on the hike you were going to take with Will a couple of week-ends ago?
Thank you!
Will be getting our border terrier in a few weeks and are really looking forward to the new perspective a dog will surely bring....lovely blog and you live in a beautiful part of the world, I used to spend a lot of time in Portsmouth NH and countryside thereabouts....very nice...
Tom & Atticus- I just finished reading your book and I am truly inspired by your adventures through the white mountains. I'm 18 years old and this winter I summited Mount Washington for the first time on February 22nd. It was a picture picture day, barely any wind, blue skies, and warm temperatures! I have a passion for hiking and animals too! I'm majoring in animal science at UNH and I hope to one day be a veterinarian so I can save the lives of beautiful dogs such as Atticus!
Your stories about Atticus are ones that keep me inspired for reaching for my goal to one day be a veterinarian. Both you and Atticus are my hiking heroes, and role models I look up to. I hope to experience the brilliant adventures you both have been through.
-Emily
