Following Atticus: Forty-Eight High Peaks, One Little Dog, and an Extraordinary Friendship by Tom Ryan is published by William Morrow. It tells the story of my adventures with Atticus M. Finch, a little dog of some distinction. You can also find our column in the NorthCountry News.

Great review, Tom. Well said. I miss your updates though.
After your trip, I was able to sneak into Facebook and read
about your trip after the fact. No longer. Getting hungry.🙁

I picked up Will's Red Coat, knowing that it would bring me to tears, again. Mr. Ryan reminds us that nature and animals can teach us more about being loving, forgiving, courageous, steadfast, and intelligent than man. Like Atticus, I still remember a dog, my wire-haired terrier, as my very best friend growing up. At 70, the writings of Tom have inspired me to re-read the Classic authors mentioned for my Bucket List.
Our prayers are for him to stay in good health and keep writing, writing--I await that new novel. Surely there must someday be a Memorial to Mr. Ryan and his "kids"--just like Hatchi.

I recently completed reading 'Following Atticus' and knew I wanted to continue with 'Will's Red Coat'. Words cannot describe how much Tom's writing about his life with these two wonderful dogs has inspired and transformed me. As a person with a dog and cats too, I could relate to the ups, downs and joys of being with my companions. Tom's love, compassion, respect and empathy for not only Atticus and Will, but any animal, is an exemplary model for living with kindness and humility toward all sentient beings. Thank you Tom Ryan.

Your book planted a seed in my heart 2years ago. After reading it, I swore if I ever got another dog, it would be a miniature Schnauzer. Friday I brought him home. What a little sweetheart he is! Thanks for planting that seed.

Hi Tom,
I am not a 'social media' type but do read you Facebook page on occasion, just can't leave comments there.

I miss your blog posts, hope you will have time to do more.

I just finished listening to Will's Red Coat, you have a great voice for storytelling...wish I was in New Hampshire to see you in person at one of your appearances.

Going in to reading WRC I knew what the end would be and to hear the story of Will, Atticus and you often got me emotional.

Thank you for sharing your story and I look forward to hearing your voice share more about Samwise and Emily

regards,
Mike
