Which Five Pics Would You Pick?

We're sending out our book proposal to publishers soon and the last step is to include five photos of Atticus. But as you might guess, we have so many of them. We'd love to know which five you'd include. Take the poll to the right (choose five). Polling has now closed. And the top 10 are now placed in order starting with No. 1 in the polling and going down. If you'd like to make a comment, you can do it at the bottom of this post.

  1. Yes, I know, j) should actually be 'Beautiful Moosilauke' in the poll and not 'Beautiful Jackson'.

All of the photos you post are wonderful. I really hope you select a few that include you. My favorite is "Undercast on Mount Hight."

  6. Hi Tom,
I love the same pictures most people liked. But I feel strongly about "Atticus Following Tom". Even though he's too small to see in the pic, it's a magnificent shot with the snow in the trees, and represents the beauty (and difficulty) of climbing in winter.

I like "Calm before Storm" as jacket illustration and "Happy It's Winter"/"Black Dog, White Rock" to bookend a gallery of photos.
I do like Atticus following Tom through snowy landscape to show relationship (even if inverted from usual!) and snowy landscape.
Congratulations! Looking forward to the book.

  9. Hello Marjorie and thank you for your comments. However, I should point out, that these photos are just going to be included in the book proposal that will be shopped to U.S. publishers when their summer vacation ends on Labor Day.

Still not sure if we'll have a book deal in the US at that time, but I'd like to think we will. We have a great agent representing us in Brian DeFiore so we are in good hands.

When a publisher buys our book proposal, they'll then work with me to decide which photos will go where and I'm sure they might even send a professional our way to help capture the essence of the relationship the two of us share.

    Have a good day,
    Tom

  10. Nancy, I love that one, too, even though our order is reversed in it. Although, when there is snow on the ground, I will sometimes lead the way for a short while breaking trail with my snowshoes for the little guy.
