Following Atticus: Forty-Eight High Peaks, One Little Dog, and an Extraordinary Friendship by Tom Ryan is published by William Morrow. It tells the story of my adventures with Atticus M. Finch, a little dog of some distinction. You can also find our column in the NorthCountry News.

Photos from Lafayette, Lincoln, Liberty, and Flume; Hike took place on February 22, 2007

Finally, the Weather Gods invited us up to play on Franconia Ridge on Thursday. We had a day with mild temperatures and low winds and were even suprised to find sunshine on three of the four summits.

Atticus and I were joined by Jeff Vino for the day. These were the 52-55 peaks we have summited this winter. We have now climbed 41 of the 48 4,000-footers once. And we've climbed 14 of them twice.

My favorite pictures to see is when you have Atticus in the crook of your right arm...both of you looking out and taking it all in. Amazing picture of Atticus, off in the distance. Just incredible. Franconia Ridge looks like a very beautiful place.
