Following Atticus: Forty-Eight High Peaks, One Little Dog, and an Extraordinary Friendship by Tom Ryan is published by William Morrow. It tells the story of my adventures with Atticus M. Finch, a little dog of some distinction. You can also find our column in the NorthCountry News.

Floppy Ears & All

We're biding our time today on this wind-whipped day where the temperature has yet to reach 20 degrees in the sun. Our winter will start soon enough so we're in no hurry to get out there today, even for short walks. Atticus, however, is chomping at the bit to get going; that's a good sign for the times to come starting this weekend. Instead I'm spending much of this week unpacking things I've yet to unpack since our move. I just came across this photo of little Atticus, about four months old, on the back deck of Gilda & Gilbert (they had to marry each other) Tunney. It was our first road trip together and you can see even by this photo that he was getting ready for the summit sitting he later adopted. Just thought I'd share.
